Raleigh, United States - February 22, 2018 /NewsNetwork/ —

The Sudoku Professor announced today they would donate a portion of all their sales between now and September 15th, 2018 to the Alzheimer’s Association to help the 5 million plus Americans suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The day marks the Raleigh-area company’s local Walk to End Alzheimer’s annual event, held this year at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The Association holds walks across the country each year in support of research.

The Sudoku Professor owner Chad Barker says he’s always admired the Alzheimer’s Association’s research and the work they do helping the millions diagnosed with presently incurable Alzheimer’s disease. He said they’re thrilled to be able to give to an organization that has given so much and done so much good over the years.

“I quickly found out that my students were [playing Sudoku] not just for fun,” said Barker. “Their real goal was to keep their mind sharp and their brain active. Most of my students were 55 and older, and many reported amazing stories of Sudoku’s positive effect on their lives. Some even told me that after completing their daily Sudoku puzzle in the morning they felt more alert or more on top of their day than when they didn’t.”

While no official studies have conclusively linked Sudoku puzzles with preventing Alzheimer’s or dementia, it is notable that websites such as AARP.org and others catering to an elder market feature dedicated Sudoku sections. The disease often affects older people, with few instances medically diagnosed in those under the age of 55.

That means as baby boomers age into retirement and the golden years, more people are sure to be affected by the disease – making the fight for a cure all the more imperative.

Barker noted, on a personal level, “Like many of us, I’ve been touched by the effects of Alzheimer’s and other forms of cognitive decline in my friends and family. I’ve seen it’s devastating effects on individuals and their family members, so it has become my passion to help find a cure for these diseases.”

He said anyone who purchases any of the training from The Professor’s “Sudoku Solving System” will now know that not only do they get to work on their own mental mastery with the best training that teaches people the patterns and logic used in solving even really complex Sudoku puzzles, they’ll also be helping the millions suffering now and those who stand to be affected in the future from the devastation of Alzheimer’s disease.
