Local Marketing Expert Stresses the Importance of Online Reviews

According to an expert on local marketing, online reviews are quickly becoming one of the most important aspects of bringing in new business.

Arroyo Grande, CA, United States - March 13, 2018 /PressCable/ —

A recent study that highlights the importance of online reviews for local business owners has one local marketing expert issuing warnings for those who still don’t understand the importance.

“A recent study conducted by BrightLocal shows that 85 percent of today’s consumers trust online reviews just as much as they do a personal recommendation from a friend or family member,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, an online small business directory that caters to shoppers in a way that benefits the local businesses listed on the site. “And what’s more,” he says, “is that shoppers are demanding more and more positive reviews before they will make the decision to visit a local business.”

He’s talking about the results from the survey that show when a local shop, restaurant, or service business has positive online reviews, it causes 73 percent of consumers to trust that business more. But they need good reviews to make that happen. Forty-nine percent of consumers says they need to see at least a 4 star rating before they will consider visiting a local business.

“Another piece of valuable insight from the survey has to do with responding to all those online reviews,” he says. “Thirty percent of those surveyed say that they judge a business depending on whether or not it responds to online reviews.”

Consumers can leave online reviews anyplace, but most experts agree that it benefits local business owners more if they leave them on its free business listings. And the survey provides valuable insight into that too. “One of the most important highlights is that people are more than willing to leave online reviews if only they’re asked.”

KARBALA, Iraq — Millions of Shiite Muslims from around the world are making their way this week to their sect's holy shrines in the Iraqi city of Karbala, a pilgrimage that is as much about community as it is about religion. The shrines are of two revered Shiite imams: Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, and his half-brother Abbas. The annual commemoration, called Arbaeen, draws more pilgrims each year — according to Iraqi figures — than the hajj in Saudi Arabia, a pilgrimage required once in a lifetime of every Muslim who can afford it and is physically able to make...
