Dr. Ayyaz Shah is proud to announce to be a recipient of not just one but two Diamond Crystal Awards by Aesthetic Everything® for being one of the top Aesthetic Doctors in 2017 as well as a Top Dermatologist.

October 6, 2017 —

Leading promoter to the Aesthetics industry, Aesthetic Everything® recently announced its 2017 Diamond Crystal Awards Winners. Among the categories included are companies, CEOs, Presidents, Executives, Doctors, med spas, aestheticians, nurses, staff, services training, publications, meetings, charity, videos and more.

Dr. Ayyaz Shah is proud to announce that he has been chosen as a recipient of the Diamond Crystal Award by Aesthetic Everything® in two different categories, one for Top Aesthetic Doctor and another for Top Dermatologist East.

The voting process is very complex, with over 10,000 votes submitted. It is an accomplishment to make the list, and even more so to win an award in several categories. One of Dr. Shah’s most sought after services include removing of dark spots or hyperpigmentation in intimate areas. Due to the limited availability of safe and efficacious products to treat this, many patients come to Dr. Shah for this matter.

Dr. Shah states that he uses safe and effective products to manage this very difficult to treat skin condition of dark skin on intimate areas.

Hyperpigmentation is a term used for excessive darkening of skin color. Patients have been consulting Dermatologists and skin care specialists for hyperpigmentation of the face, body and intimate areas for many years. There are various conditions which may be a cause or source of the hyperpigmentation, examples of such conditions may include but are not limited to are acne, melasma, inflammation, drugs/medications, bug bites, folliculitis/razor bumps and more.

Most treatments currently available and manufactured by many pharmaceutical and skin care companies develop products specifically for facial hyperpigmentation. Many patients over the last few years have visited the offices of Dr. Shah with the specific request for skin whitening of intimate areas. Intimate areas are defined as pubic areas, nipple/areola complex, peri-anal area and axillary(underarm) area.

The skin on the face and the skin on the body are different. The intimate area skin is very specialized skin, and treatments one would typically be able to use on facial skin will most likely be too harsh and too strong for the gentle intimate area. Many of these patients have visited many skin doctors and have been told that there is no treatment option available to treat the intimate area.

Due to the large number of these patients requesting specific treatment option for skin whitening of the intimate area, Dr. Shah and his team reached out to many of the skin care companies on the market. After a lot of research and discussion with skin care companies, Dr. Shah was able to find a few companies who have specific skin care products specifically formulated and developed for the Intimate area. In addition, they have had these products for a number of years.

At this time, Dr. Shah now offers two top of the line companies with specific skin care products which are considered to be safe and efficacious for targeting and possibly treating hyperpigmentation in an area which was previously considered not treatable. Patients have reported being pleased with their results.

A whale's tale: Longest painting in North America restored

Nov 25, 2017

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A museum has restored the longest painting in North America so it can share the story of American whaling with the public. The quarter-mile-long (0.4-kilometer-long) panorama toured the U.S. after it was completed in 1848. A section was featured at the 1964 New York World's Fair. But the panorama deteriorated after so much traveling on wagons and trains, rolling and unrolling. Paint dried up and flaked off, and the panorama was put into storage. The New Bedford Whaling Museum enlisted the help of a textile conservator to fix the "Grand Panorama of a Whaling Voyage Round...

Smooth sailing so far on $7.5M makeover of Pilgrim ship

Nov 25, 2017

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — If you're a fan of the Mayflower II, here's something that will float your boat. A year after craftsmen embarked on an ambitious effort to restore the rotting replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims to the New World in 1620, the work "is going really great," project manager Whit Perry says. Britain built the vessel and sailed it to the U.S. as a gift of friendship in 1957. Usually it's moored in Plymouth Harbor, where more than 25 million visitors have boarded it over the past six decades. But over the years, the elements, aquatic...

State attorneys general bash plan to hike national park fees

Nov 25, 2017

A group of state attorneys general on Wednesday urged the National Park Service to scrap its proposal to more than double the entrance fee at 17 popular national parks. The top government lawyers from 10 states and the District of Columbia sent a letter saying the increase could put access to the parks out of reach for many Americans. "We cannot let the most popular and awe-inspiring national parks become places for the wealthy," they said in the letter to the Park Service's acting director. All the signers are Democrats except for Arizona's Mark Brnovich, a Republican. The AGs say...

Learning to ski: How do you know when your child is ready?

Nov 25, 2017

Ski season is starting. For parents, that may mean getting kids on the slopes for the first time. But is there a perfect age to learn to ski? Nate Gardner, ski and snowboard school training manager at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont, says that what's more important than a child's age is his or her readiness. How well does the child handle other physical activities? Does the child separate well from parents so that she or he is comfortable spending a few hours with a ski instructor and other kids on the slopes, away from mom and dad? "Every child...

Diplo says planning historic concert in Cuba wasn't easy

Nov 25, 2017

LOS ANGELES — Globe-trotting EDM star Diplo recently checked another locale off his performance wish-list: Cuba. In March 2016, the Grammy-winning producer-DJ and his trio Major Lazer became one of the first American acts to take advantage of easing travel restrictions by staging a free concert in Havana. But pulling off the historic show was no easy task. Diplo says his team spent roughly 18 months planning the show. The extraordinary performance is documented in the film "Give Me Future," which premiered on Apple Music last week. Earlier this month the Trump administration imposed travel and commerce restrictions on Cuba...
